Orthodox Christian.

Frequent reader and occasional writer. Uneasy Far-Westerner. I believe in Christ and believe that Zen is at times beneficial for the soul, Christian or otherwise. I believe that this world is, as Hass writes, “so full of pain that it sometimes makes a kind of singing.” I believe that, as Hopkin’s writes, “the world is charged with the grandeur of God.” I often get in the way. I am too ironic, self-defensive. I often encourage my own boredom rather than my living. I am learning. I am guilty. I look forward to this very world and those who will become my strangers, and those for whom I will be a stranger. We’re all humans here.
